Residential Bird Safety Window Film
Help Birds Recognize Your Windows
Bird-safety treatments use a visible pattern to make glass easier for birds to recognize. If birds are hitting a window or glass door, we can assess suitable treatments and coverage for your home. Ordinary darker tint is not a substitute for a bird-safety treatment.
Start With the Window Where Collisions Happen
- Tell us which window or door is involved and what you have noticed.
- Include neighboring panes, not only the spot where a bird hit.
- Mention existing screens or film if known.
- Tell us which indoor seats and outdoor views matter most to you.
Compare the Pattern and the View
American Bird Conservancy recommends treatments visible on the outside of the glass, with appropriate spacing and coverage. Reflections can hide an interior treatment, and widely separated stickers can leave too much glass untreated.
We can discuss the pattern from your usual viewing position, including clear gaps and nearby glass. The layout should follow the selected treatment’s guidance rather than being thinned out just to make it less noticeable.
Plan Installation and Care
We check the existing glass, any old film and access to the outside surface. There is no need for you to climb up to measure a difficult window. We also explain the selected product’s cleaning and warranty information.
No treatment can promise to prevent every collision. If you also want less heat, glare or more privacy, we compare those needs separately rather than assuming a bird-visible pattern does everything.

Questions about your project
Do I have to treat every window?
We can start with the window where collisions happen and the glass around it. Ask which areas need treatment and why. Do not leave extra gaps in the pattern just to make it less noticeable.
Can I keep the view from my living room?
Discuss that goal and compare a sample from your normal viewing position. The visible pattern and effect on the view depend on the chosen treatment and layout.
Is ordinary window tint enough?
Ordinary tint chosen for heat control or privacy should not be assumed to help birds recognize the glass. We check whether the proposed treatment is suitable for that purpose.
Should I measure an upper window myself?
No difficult access is needed to start the conversation. Tell us where the window is and discuss how its measurements and installation access can be assessed safely.
