Home Window Film Removal and Replacement

Replace Old Tint With a Look That Suits Your Home

Peeling, cloudy or discolored film may need attention. Intact film can also be worth changing if you want a lighter appearance or different privacy. We assess home window-film removal and replacement throughout Southern California.

Leave the film in place for the consultation. You do not need to peel a corner or scrape off adhesive first.

Removal Only or New Film?

Understand What Removal Can and Cannot Fix

We assess the old material, adhesive and underlying glass before recommending work. Taking off film does not repair scratches, damaged coatings or a failed window seal. Some problems may only become visible after removal, so a like-new result cannot be guaranteed.

New film needs a suitable, prepared surface. Covering a deteriorating layer with another film is not a repair.

Compare One Window With a Larger Change

If one pane needs attention, we can discuss that separately from replacing film across the room. Different glass or coatings can change the appearance, so even the same film may not be an exact match.

We check access, furniture and nearby finishes and explain the work and timing after assessment. Any warranty for the new film is separate from existing glass or old-film coverage. An old invoice can help if you have one, but it is not needed to book a consultation.

Questions about your project

Do I have to replace the glass when old film is removed?

Not necessarily. Sound glass may be retained, but its condition and suitability need assessment. Film removal does not fix underlying damage.

Can the new film be lighter than the old film?

A different appearance can be considered if suitable for the glass. Compare the daylight, glare and privacy you want rather than treating the old finish as the only option.

Should I remove a corner to identify the film?

No. Leave it in place for assessment, especially on high glass or an unknown coated surface. Any records you already have can help, but are not required.
