Safety Film for Glass Doors in Simi Valley

Keep light and views through your glass while adding a treatment designed to help hold fragments together if it breaks. Safety film can be considered for suitable home doors, sidelights and windows in Simi Valley.

A Clearer Choice Than Covering the Opening

A clear safety film can preserve the open appearance of a door or adjoining pane. If heat or glare is also a concern, a suitable solar-safety construction may combine benefits; a heat-control label alone does not establish safety performance.

A fragment-retention goal differs from a security goal. Security-related claims need evidence for the proposed glass, film, frame and installation, not simply a stronger-sounding product name.

Look at the Whole Door

The glass and frame determine what system can be installed. Some applications require a manufacturer-specified attachment around the perimeter to connect the filmed glass to the frame. Film thickness by itself does not answer that question.

For sliding doors, we consider the moving panel, adjacent fixed glass and operating clearances. Existing locks and the condition of the frame remain important parts of the door rather than being replaced by film.

What Safety Film Does Not Do

Film does not make a sliding glass door shatterproof or bulletproof. Glass can still break, and film cannot guarantee prevention of entry, injury or damage. It is not a repair for cracked glass or a substitute for required safety glazing.
