Huper Optik Dekorativ Film for Interior Glass
Huper Optik Dekorativ offers four different approaches to the appearance and obscurity of interior glass: Deko Frost, Dusted Crystal, White Out and Matte Black. The right choice depends on what you want people to see through the glass, how much light should pass between spaces and the finish that suits the room.
WindowTint.biz can help you plan the treatment at your property. During a free in-person consultation, we bring samples, evaluate and measure the glass, answer questions and quote the proposed work on site.
Define the privacy goal before choosing the finish
An interior conference room may need to limit views of seated people while keeping a sense of light from the corridor. An office door may need a defined obscured panel. A back-of-house area may call for a more solid appearance. These are different viewing and coverage decisions.
We start by looking through the glass from both sides, at standing and seated heights. We also consider lighting and how close people or objects will be to the pane. A sample helps establish whether the proposed finish and coverage meet your expectations before a full installation.
Compare the four Dekorativ finishes
Deko Frost: a light-transmitting frosted treatment
Deko Frost is the starting point for a frosted interior-glass appearance. It is worth comparing when you want to obscure direct views while retaining light between spaces. Discuss full-pane treatment versus a defined band, and check the sample against the viewing distances that matter. Frosted appearance alone does not establish how much silhouette detail will remain visible in every lighting condition.
Dusted Crystal: a brighter decorative option
Dusted Crystal offers a lighter decorative direction to compare with Deko Frost. Its manufacturer reference specification lists 89% visible light transmission on 1/4-inch (6 mm) clear float glass. That makes it useful to discuss when brightness is important, but light transmission is not a privacy score. Test the sample for the actual sight line or proposed design rather than assuming it provides the same obscurity as a denser finish. Dusted Crystal technical specification.
White Out: a white finish that still transmits some light
White Out gives interior glass a more solid white appearance. Its reference specification lists 16% visible light transmission on 1/4-inch (6 mm) clear float glass, so it should not be chosen on the assumption that it blocks all light. Compare it with frost when you want a stronger visual separation, and with Matte Black when the amount of transmitted light is central to the project. White Out technical specification.
Matte Black: zero light transmission through the treated area
Matte Black has a listed 0% visible light transmission on the same 6 mm reference glass. It creates a black, light-blocking treatment through the covered pane; uncovered edges, adjacent glass and other openings can still admit light to the room. The manufacturer warns against dual-pane application. It requires a glass-specific suitability review and should not be selected as a general blackout solution for sunny exterior windows. Plan coverage as carefully as the film
A partial-height band can preserve an open feeling, but clear areas above or below it remain sight lines. Full-pane coverage changes the experience more substantially. Door handles, panel edges and the alignment across adjoining glass also affect the finished result.
If a pattern or branded design is part of your plans, discuss its purpose and the coverage you need during the consultation. The layout needs to be reviewed alongside the sample so a decorative opening does not undermine the privacy you wanted.

Interior-glass scope and product care
This page focuses on interior glass applications. The manufacturer’s separate Dekorativ warranty is written for the interior surface of interior glass and excludes exterior-exposure glass. We evaluate the proposed location and provide the applicable written product and warranty details with the recommendation. We also explain the cleaning and care instructions for the selected film.
Questions about Dekorativ film
Will frosted film provide complete privacy in every situation?
The result depends on the finish, coverage, lighting and distance between objects and the glass. We compare the sample at the actual viewing positions. Check silhouettes and remaining clear areas before approving the layout.
Is White Out the same as blackout film?
White Out still transmits some visible light on the manufacturer’s reference glazing. Matte Black has zero listed visible light transmission, with different appearance and glass-compatibility requirements.
Can these films be used on exterior-facing bathroom or office windows?
An exterior-facing window needs a separate application and coverage review. Do not assume an interior decorative film or its warranty applies. We can assess the window and discuss an appropriate privacy treatment.
Should I choose Dekorativ to reduce heat in a sunny room?
Begin with the actual glass and your main goal. For transparent solar-control choices, compare the Ceramic family or Select Sech and Drei. Dekorativ selection here starts with interior-glass appearance, obscurity and light transfer.
