LLumar Dual-Reflective Window Film

When afternoon sunlight makes a room difficult to use, you may be ready for a more noticeable level of shading. LLumar dual-reflective window film is an option for homeowners and businesses that want to compare glare control with a more reflective outside appearance and a less reflective room-facing surface.

WindowTint.biz helps you decide how much shading makes sense for the glass and the space. Our team visits for a free consultation, measures the windows, brings samples, answers questions and provides an on-site quote.

What does dual-reflective film look like?

The two sides are designed to have different visible reflection levels. The outside is more reflective; the inside is less reflective. That difference matters if you want solar control while paying attention to what you see when looking out from the room.

Reflection still changes with lighting. Lamps, pale walls and a dark outdoor background can be visible in the glass after sunset. We look at the room-facing appearance as well as the exterior, and we explain why lower interior reflectivity does not guarantee a reflection-free view in every situation.

For the manufacturer's introduction, see LLumar's dual-reflective film overview.

Compare the four standard LLumar choices

LLumar's current solar sheet identifies these warm-gray dual-reflective products. Its listed visible-light transmission values are:

  • DR05 SR CDF: 6%

  • DR15 SR CDF: 15%

  • DRN25 SR CDF: 21%

  • DRN35 SR CDF: 34%

These figures are measured on single-pane, 1/8-inch clear glass using NFRC guidelines, as stated in the March 2026 LLumar solar performance sheet. Actual results depend on the glazing. The percentages describe the light passing through the tested glass-and-film combination, not a guaranteed brightness level for an entire room.

The lower-transmission choices create a substantial change in daylight. We compare that change with the relief you are looking for from bright windows. A media room and a kitchen may need different priorities even when both receive afternoon sun.

These are standard LLumar solar-film codes. Your quote will identify the full product, so an ordinary solar film is not confused with a similarly named thicker safety film.

Start with where the glare causes trouble

If you move away from a favorite seat, tilt a screen to avoid a bright reflection or keep blinds closed during working hours, show us that part of the room. We consider the window from the position where you actually spend time.

A darker sample may look comfortable in front of the sunniest pane and feel too dim elsewhere. Rather than defaulting to the darkest choice, we compare useful shading with the daylight you want to keep. Our anti-glare window film guide covers this balance for televisions, computers and other everyday uses.

For a business, the priorities can change across the frontage. A work area may welcome more shading, while a display window needs a clear view of products. We review both before recommending a consistent or area-specific approach.

Daytime privacy has a lighting condition

Reflective film can make it harder to see into a room when outdoors is brighter than indoors. The same window can become easy to see through from outside when interior lights are on after dark.

If privacy matters at night, plan for blinds, curtains or a finish designed to obscure the view. Our one-way window film guide explains the lighting issue. We will ask when and where you need privacy so the recommendation addresses the actual concern.

Consider the outside appearance before choosing

Dual-reflective film can change how a building looks from the street. We compare samples on the existing glazing and discuss neighboring untreated panes. Landlord, association or building-management approval may be needed before the installation is scheduled.

A property with a strict low-reflection appearance requirement may call for a different comparison. Our LLumar window film guide introduces other architectural families, and we can bring suitable alternatives to the consultation.

Questions about LLumar dual-reflective film

Can I still see outside at night?

Lower interior reflectivity can help with the view, but lighting on both sides of the glass still matters. It does not make a dark outdoor scene brightly visible or eliminate every indoor reflection.

Is DR05 the right choice for every hot room?

No. It is a very low-light-transmission option. We need to consider glare, daylight, glass compatibility and appearance before recommending it.

Can this film go on dual-pane or low-e windows?

The specific film needs to be checked against the specific glazing. We assess the windows, existing coatings, condition and any previous film during the visit.

Does dual-reflective mean safety film?

No. The products listed here are solar-control films. If glass retention or security is part of your goal, tell us so we can discuss an appropriate system separately.

How much does installation cost?

The quote depends on the chosen film, glass area, access and preparation. We take the measurements and explain the installation scope and applicable written warranty on site.
