Great company to have tinting done at your residential property. Joe came out and did the estimate and
Find the source before treating the glass
The pane nearest a melted patch is not necessarily the one causing it. Sunlight can reflect from glass doors, upper windows, or another part of the property toward the same lawn. We review the affected area and the glass together, looking at the direction of the reflection and the installation options.
Concentrated reflected sunlight can distort synthetic fibers, but the appearance of damaged turf alone does not prove the cause. We assess whether a reflection treatment fits the problem before recommending film. If the relevant reflection is absent during our visit, we explain any further check needed.
You can call while damage is happening.
Keep the view part of the film decision
If the affected windows frame a view you enjoy, appearance deserves a proper comparison. A reflection-control treatment may have a screen-like or perforated finish. We bring samples and discuss how the proposed material looks from inside the room and outside beside the yard.
We also consider adjoining untreated panes. Treating a source window can create a visible difference within a larger group of glass, so we explain the proposed coverage before installation. We do not assume that every pane needs film or that one sample will look identical under every lighting condition.
Our Malibu window-film service also covers indoor heat and glare concerns. Tell us about both goals so the glass review accounts for them.
Why ordinary solar tint may not solve turf damage
An indoor room that feels cooler does not establish that the outdoor reflection has been addressed. Specialist turf-protection material is selected for the reflected sunlight reaching the lawn. A dark shade, high UV-rejection rating, or an exterior-use label alone does not show that a film will do that job.
We check the glass construction, coatings, condition, existing film, and the selected product's application requirements. Where the treatment belongs and how we reach that surface are part of the plan. Our comparison of turf-protection film and solar tint explains the different purposes.
Before your first artificial lawn goes in
A planned turf area gives us an opportunity to review the windows before there are damaged fibers to replace. We look at where the lawn will sit, which glass faces it, and whether planned planting or other work changes access to the windows.
The assessment may support a specialist treatment, a different project sequence, or further observation before deciding. New turf does not automatically mean every nearby window needs film. Our pre-installation reflection guide covers the decisions to make while the layout is still flexible.
Replacing a melted section? Include the windows in that plan
Replacement turf can encounter the same damaging reflection if its source remains unchanged. We can assess the window work before your turf installer returns, so the two jobs can be put in a sensible order.
Film cannot restore melted fibers. Your turf installer handles the damaged lawn; we handle suitable glass treatment and explain any checks needed afterward. If you already have a repair date, mention it when you contact us and we will discuss the window-work schedule promptly.
Malibu turf-protection questions
Can you help if only one window appears to be involved?
Yes. We can assess an individual problem pane. The quote follows the actual scope, which may include other glass if the assessment shows it contributes to the reflection. Access and product suitability matter as well as window size.
Do large low-E windows always need treatment?
No. The glass and surrounding layout determine the exposure. The National Glass Association's explanation of reflected solar energy describes how coatings, glass shape, and sun position can affect reflected sunlight. A low-E label alone is not a diagnosis.
What if the source is on another property?
We can help assess the likely source and discuss suitable treatment. Working on another owner's glass requires their permission and access. Our neighbor-window reflection guide explains that situation.
Arrange your free Malibu consultation
We visit your property, take the measurements and project photos, bring samples, answer questions, and provide an on-site quote once the suitable treatment and access are confirmed. We discuss appearance, care, and the applicable written warranty before you choose.
