XPEL VISION Clear View Plus Window Film
A room can have a great view and still feel uncomfortable when the sun reaches the glass. XPEL VISION Clear View Plus is an interior architectural window film family worth comparing when you want solar control with a low-shine appearance. Its range includes lighter and darker choices, so the conversation can start with the room: how bright you want it, when glare bothers you, and how much change you want to see in the windows.
WindowTint.biz helps homeowners and businesses compare XPEL window film for existing glass throughout Southern California. We match the film to the property and explain the installation before you decide.

Clear View Plus 70, 55, 40 and 20
The number in a film's name identifies the grade; it is not a promise of the light transmission through your finished window. These figures describe film installed on 1/8-inch (3 mm) clear float reference glass.
Clear View Plus reference-glass comparison
Clear View Plus 70
Visible light transmitted: 72%
Total solar energy rejected: 55%
Glare reduction: 20%
Clear View Plus 40
Visible light transmitted: 40%
Total solar energy rejected: 62%
Glare reduction: 53%
Clear View Plus 20
Visible light transmitted: 21%
Total solar energy rejected: 67%
Glare reduction: 77%
Clear View Plus 55 is another grade to include in a side-by-side sample comparison. Compare its appearance with the other samples in your room before choosing a grade.
Visible light transmission helps describe brightness. Total solar energy rejection, or TSER, describes solar performance under the reference conditions. The figures are useful for comparing films, but your existing glass changes the finished result. They do not predict a room-temperature drop or a percentage reduction in your utility bill.

Choose for daylight first, then check the glare
Clear View Plus 70 is the brightest of the three grades in the comparison. It makes sense to start there when the view and natural light matter most. Its lower glare-reduction figure also matters: a bright, lightly tinted window may still need a shade when low afternoon sun lands directly on a screen.
Clear View Plus 40 moves toward more shading. Clear View Plus 20 takes that further, with stronger glare reduction and a darker result. For a west-facing living room or office, compare samples from the seat or desk where the sunlight causes trouble. The darkest film is not automatically the most comfortable choice throughout the day.
Our guide to heat from west-facing windows explains why orientation and timing matter. The broader XPEL VISION window film guide covers other architectural families when a different appearance or purpose is a better fit.
Views, privacy and coastal installation
A low-shine solar film does not provide dependable nighttime privacy. If the room is brighter than outdoors, people outside may still see in. Keep shades or curtains where privacy after dark matters, or compare an obscuring film for glass that does not need a clear view.
We also check the glass construction, existing coatings, condition, shading and pane size. Dual-pane or low-e windows require a film-to-glass assessment. For coastal properties, XPEL specifies edge sealing for Clear View Plus within 25 miles of the ocean. That detail belongs in the installation plan from the beginning.
The written quote should identify the selected film and applicable warranty terms. Coverage depends on the product, glass and installation conditions; film coverage and glass or seal coverage are different questions.
For a coastal condominium, our coastal condo solar-film selection guide compares product choices alongside views, glare, glass and coastal edge-treatment requirements.

Clear View Plus questions
Will Clear View Plus stop furniture from fading?
Clear View Plus 70, 40 and 20 each list 99% UV rejection on the reference glass described above. Reducing UV exposure can address one cause of fading, but visible light, heat and the materials themselves still matter. Film cannot eliminate fading.
Can I use the same grade throughout the house?
Sometimes. We compare sun exposure and room use while considering a consistent exterior appearance. A shaded bedroom and a sunny living room may need different levels of shading. Our residential window film service starts with that whole-home review.
How much does Clear View Plus cost?
Pricing depends on the selected film, glass area, access, preparation and installation details such as coastal edge sealing. We measure and review those conditions before giving you the project price.
